Bellator champion Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire makes million-dollar bet with Dana White that he can beat UFC’s top stars

BELLATOR champion Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire offered a million-dollar bet to Dana White that he can beat any top UFC star.

It came after White revealed plans to meet with Bellator star turned free agent Michael Chandler, 34, to discuss signing him.

The promoter later admitted he did not how much about 33-year-old Pitbull – who beat Chandler last year – sparking a furious reaction from the Brazilian.

The current Bellator featherweight and lightweight champion then put up a million-dollars that he could defeat a UFC fighter of White’s choosing.

He tweeted: “Any way works fine for me.

“I’m sure if @danawhite and the @UFC are open to it @BellatorMMA will let me go there fight their champions.

“I will even personally bet 1 million dollars with White that I win. How does that sound for an incentive?”

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, 33, replied: “Easiest money you will ever make @danawhite, let’s make it happen.”

Freire responded: “I’ll remember those words after I knock you out. Put your money where your mouth is @danawhite@ufc.”

Pitbull’s older brother Patricky, 34, defeated former UFC champion Benson Henderson in 2017.

But White blasted Bellator’s light-heavyweight division, which was formerly ruled by Ryan Bader – who the UFC released in 2016.

He said: “Everybody they have in their light heavyweight division we let go of. He’s got the best light heavyweight division?

“We let all those guys all go. It’s like the f***ing dumbest thing I’ve heard, but I get it. He’s got to f***ing do his thing. I’m not s***ing on him.

“He’s got to try to do his thing. He’s got to try to sell fights. The way you don’t sell fights is, ‘I’ve got the best light heavyweight division in the world.’

“Everybody that was there was let go from here.”
