The Lifetime Channel kicked off its summer in New Orleans with a new season of Married at First Sight. Five new couples have met at the altar, beginning the intense eight-week social experiment. As the couples begin to get to know one another on their honeymoon lets recall everything we know about newlyweds Woody and Amani.
New reality stars Woody, 30, and Amani, 29, both came on Married at First Sight to end their neverending search for love. After only two weeks of planning their wedding, the two finally were able to meet and exchange their vows. The New Orleans couple got off to a great start, with their undeniable chemistry proving the experts were on to something. Although they have a long journey ahead of them, let's take a moment to revisit what we know about this dynamic couple.
Unlike her husband Woody, who is a New Orleans native, Amani was born in North Carolina and raised in the Windy City, Chicago, Illinois. She traveled to New Orleans to attend college and now works in the non-profit sector. Woody works as a teacher and coach, which is a bonus for his wife who aspires to open her own non-profit organization working with youth.
Both come from a rocky dating background that has led them to Married at First Sight. Woody has admitted to struggling to get past various "situationships" and forming lasting, supportive relationships. Amani has dated on and off in the past, with her last courtship ending when she found out her partner was married. In the latest episode, Woody admitted to cheating in the past, but believes he 's learned from his mistakes. Additionally, Amani found out from her new hubby' family he has a bit of a temper, see clip below:
Despite their prior dating history Woody and Amani remain hopeful in finding true love. Woody has revealed, after getting a promotion, he realized he really wants someone to share his accomplishments and special moments with besides his mother. His wife's personal interests are in alignment with his, stating she's looking for someone to "build a legacy with."
With only four episodes aired, there's still more to learn about their marriage. Woody and Amani's vibrant chemistry, aided by their love for dancing and desire of a lasting marriage is a sure sign their journey will be a must-see. And as long as Woody can keep from partaking in Amani's pet peeve, smacking, this relationship could be one of the series' lasting marriages.
Married at First Sight airs Wednesdays at 8pm EST on The Lifetime Channel.
