Tottenham Hotspur managed to bounce back from a bitterly disappointing draw against Bournemouth last week to defeat their North London rivals Arsenal this evening.
The Lilywhites managed to grab all three points in the 2-1 victory, but how did the individual players get on?
Hugo Lloris – 7 – A couple of nice stops from the Frenchman, although he wasn’t called into action too much. Nothing he could do for the sweet Lacazette strike.
Ben Davies – 3.5 – Looked a liability down the left at times up against Pepe. He would have definitely gone up a couple of points if that 35-yeard strike had gone in though!
Toby Alderweireld – 8.5 – A rock at the back for Spurs and the Belgian got the winner to boot. A fabulous all-round display from Toby today in North London.
Davinson Sanchez – 7.5 – I was worried about him before the kick-off but Sanchez coped with the occasion well and used his pace to track runners and cover for Aurier.
Serge Aurier – 3 – Can you name a worse duo than Aurier and a flat back four? The right-back was a liability yet again today, while offering little going forward either.
Lucas Moura – 8.5 – I thought that Moura was immense today for Tottenham. The Brazilian looked more at home out wide and put in a huge shift defensively too. Moura also came up with a couple of shots and two key passes to send Kane in behind.
Harry Winks – 7 – Tired towards the end of the game, but Winks performed an underrated job in the centre today. What he does may look boring, but it allows Spurs to defend and build as a unit.
Giovani Lo Celso – 8 – Different class in the first half and dictated play for Spurs at times. He drifted in the second half, partly down to fatigue and partly due to his yellow card.
Moussa Sissoko – 7.5 – An absolute engine on the right-hand side. Sissoko played a huge part in seeing out the final ten minutes with a lung-busting run, as well as covering for Aurier all game long.
Heung-min Son – 8.5 – Took his chance expertly and worked hard throughout. Probably should have looked for a pass to Kane towards the end, but you can’t complain with a goal and an assist from the South Korean.
Harry Kane – 7 – He didn’t get the goal that he so desperately wanted, but Kane looked fit, sharp, and ready to graft for the win. On another day, he grabs a couple.
Substitutes –
Steven Bergwijn – 6 – Came on a did a great defensive job on the left-hand side.
Oliver Skipp – N/A
Erik Lamela – N/A
