I'm a firm believer that it's a great formation IF you have players that suit the system and there is a clear gameplan - see Wolves and Sheff Utd. We have neither of these (plus a couple of days preparation) so god knows why they chose to play it.
Perhaps to ensure we got Hogan and Juke in the same team? It's also harsh to have put Harding and Gordon on the same side. Surely it's more difficult to play on the left or right of the three and so Dean was provided that protection today without helping either Robert or Gordon enough.
