Templegate – ANTHONY VAN DYCK ran his best race since winning the Derby when chasing home potential superstar Ghaiyyath in the Coronation Cup last time. That race was moved from its usual Epsom home to Newmarket and the Aidan O’Brien-trained four-year-old was gaining with every stride at the line.
Matt Chapman – The Hardwicke sees the return of a Derby hero in ANTHONY VAN DYCK. I backed him in the Derby and I will do so again in this after a very promising return to action at Newmarket. That was in the Coronation Cup when he stayed on strongly, and while he might not be the best of Derby winners he’s certainly not the worst for O’Brien and Ryan Moore.
Trends – After applying just two trends we are already at a stats shootout between Anthony Van Dyck and Morando.
Given that we haven’t had a winner over the age of six in recent memory that is a major minus for Morando.
