Former Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal, has admitted that Daniel Levy had to be smuggled out of his house back in 2014 after the pair met to discuss the Dutch manager taking over at Spurs.
It was no secret that Spurs were interested in appointing Van Gaal in 2014, with the 68-year-old himself admitting last year that he made a mistake by rejecting the North Londoners in favour of the Red Devils (Telegraph).
Van Gaal’s decision to turn Tottenham down proved to be a blessing in disguise as Spurs hired Mauricio Pochettino instead.
