Report: Club not willing to budge on their price for Spurs target despite short contract
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been informed by Napoli that they will not reduce their asking price for Arkadiusz Milik, who is said to be on Spurs’ radar this summer.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Milik over the past couple of months with CalcioNapoli24 reporting at the start of March that the Lilywhites want to sign the Poland international this summer.
The striker has seen himself fall down the pecking order at Napoli, having made just sixteen league appearances for the Serie A side this season, with many of those coming from the bench (transfermarkt).
The Express previously reported that Napoli wanted around £40 million to part ways with the striker.
Spurs may have been hoping to get the striker for a cut-price deal since the Polish international only has a year left to run on his contract (Tuttosport via Sport Witness).
However, a report in Il Mattino (as translated by TEAMtalk) reveals that the Serie A club are in no mood to let any of their players leave for cheap this summer.
It is claimed that Napoli have informed the clubs interested in Milik that they will not be reducing their asking price despite the financial impact of the coronavirus.

Napoli might have to eventually pull back on their hardball stance given that Milik only has a year left to run on his deal. No club in Europe is going to pay £40 million for him this summer. While the Polish international would be perfect for us, I suspect we might go for a cheaper option like Vedat Muriqi.
