Player's are provided several options to gain access to these epic weapons throughout the game.
The first option players can utilize to purchase these Epic weapons is to wait and purchase them from vendors found throughout the campaign. Although they are not always guaranteed, the vendors found in the Scavenger Market in the game provide a small chance of selling Epic weaponry. So be sure to always chat with them to potentially purchase one of these powerful weapons.
Another method is to engage in specific side quests found on the Virtual Map of City 31. The specific side quests players will gain epic weapons from will be demonstrated by a gold coloring. The quests will state the epic weapon type you will be rewarded after its completion, but the specific weapon will not be made clear until after the quest has been completed. Regardless, this is another solid method to gain access to the epic weapons in XCOM: Chimera Squad.
