Libras are fans of beauty and elegance, making some period pieces perfect for them...but on the flip-side, they are no lovers of history's darkness. Some period pieces are too gory for them, others too gritty, while some are just right. If there's a touch of glamor, some beauty, and a heaping spoonful of romances, Libras will go all in.
Here are some movies Libras will adore and some they'll want to leave on pause.
Libras love beauty and they love wit, two things The Favourite has in spades. The aesthetic of the movie and its intense bouts of symbolism will capture the Libras imagination... and of course, the spectacular outfits worn by its whip-smart trio of leads.
The movie will capture Libra's imagination challenging them to think while transporting them to a certain period.
Libras are not a big fan of this period classic. While Pride & Prejudice is lauded as a great love story, Libras are left cold by all of its lead, finding none of them to be personable, charming, or particularly charismatic.
Elizabeth Bennet is not a pleasant protagonist, nor is Mr. Darcy a likable love interest. Libras will feel these cast, and this period, are not enchanting enough to capture their attention.
Marie Antoinette is a feast for a Libra. The visual alone will captivate them, making them wish to be present in France, dancing at a ball in a fabulous gone.
Libras are aesthetes by nature and this movie is all about elevated style, even though it might not be perfectly accurate in his historical accuracy. In the case of Libras though, the facts matter less than their presentation.
The Other Boleyn Girl is a huge let down for Libras. Tudor times are one of the most Libra times that history has seen, in fiction, at least, full of courtly love, dramatic dresses, and a touch of that gossipy glamor that Libras adore. But The Other Boleyn Girl is really a paltry offering. It does neither history nor fantasy any justice.
Libras want a touch less bad acting and a touch more glamor, this is not the movie for them.
Libras adore Titanic. Although other signs might feel this movie is cliche and overhyped, a Libra is always taken in by its richness. Every scene is a feast for the eyes, and though perhaps it is cliche, the romance is sweeping and elegant. Libras will love Rose's many dresses and the way Jack sweeps her off her feet.
For Libras, Titanic is a classic for a reason.
300 is a no go for Libras. Heavy on the violence, low on the plot, there's nothing in this film that will catch the fancy of a Libra. While Libras might love the idea of history, they aren't signs that thrive on the darker parts of it, especially not when those parts are heightened in a gory way for dramatic effect.
300 is a firm thumb's down for Libras.
A Little Princess is a period piece that centers on the power of imagination. Imagination is one of Libra's strongest tools and they love to see it on display.
Additionally, Libras value justice above all, and they will see themselves in Sarah Crewe's strong determination to always act in a way that is right, and the neat way in which everyone in the film gets their just desserts.
Gangs of New York is another gritter offering. While it's technically an excellent movie and Libras acknowledge that it is very well done, they just don't enjoy much about it.
The time period, the violence, the intensity of darkness, the focus on revenge are all features of this movie, but they are exactly wrong for a Libra.
Libras love Shakespeare--they are a big fan of the bard, so seeing his work on film is a special treat. A Midsummer Night's Deam is a particularly Libra offering, with its world of fairies, ritual, dreams, and romance. It's not too heavy, like some of Shakespeare's dramas, nor is it too comedic, in short, it's well balanced, making it the perfect Libra blend.
Libras will let themselves get carried away by the rhythm of the play and drink in its spectacle of beauty.
A Royal Affair is a big Libra tease. It features an incredible cast and takes place in a period which, from the outset, promises lavish balls and a look at courtly life. But while there are moments of this, by and large, the movie is a heavy philosophical piece. It's more a sociopolitical commentary than a turn across the dance floor.
Libras might like this movie more if they knew what they were in for going in.
