It’s Tristan “Mack” Wilds like you’ve never seen him before — loving partner and papa bear. That’s right, Wilds is a father, and for the first time, he’s opening up about that journey with his longtime love, Christina Hammond, by his side.
Wilds, Hammond, and their 5-month-old daughter Tristyn, posed for a spread in Essence magazine where Mack described fatherhood.
“There’s a certain tenderness when you’re raising a girl,” he says. “You still have to be tough, but ultimately, when you’re raising a girl, you’re raising the closest thing that we have to God.”
Tristan also candidly talk about his relationship with Christina, the 30-year-old media and talent relations strategist he met on the set of “The Wire” 15 years ago.
“Everybody says their woman is their rib,” says Wilds. “But she’s my backbone. In this business, it’s like, if you don’t have a backbone, you’re a gutted fish.”
Hammond also opened up about seeing Mack as a father, a relationship that her own with her father.
“I’m a daddy’s girl, so I’m blessed that she’s able to have the experience of having such a good father, because there’s nothing like it. I know that he has her back 1,000 percent.”
