Reports have emerged over the past 24 hours stating that Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta this summer (Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness).
It was said that Tottenham saw Gollini as a potential long-term successor to the 33-year-old Hugo Lloris, as the Italian is eight years his younger.
Gollini has impressed this season during his numerous outings with Atalanta in both Serie A and the Champions League, racking up 29 appearances in the process (Wikipedia).
Spurs already have World Cup-winner Hugo Lloris and deputy Paulo Gazzaniga on their books, but look likely to lose Michel Vorm on a free at the end of the season.
While Mourinho was said to like the look of the 25-year-old keeper from Atalanta, Gazzetta dello Sport also added that Aston Villa and AC Milan were interested.
Despite these rumours, Charlie Eccleshare from The Athletic has now come out and categorically denied all links to Gollini, labelling them as ‘completely not true’.
Am told reports linking #THFC with Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini are completely not true.
