The French goalkeeper confirms via Twitter that she is leaving the club.
French goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi has made it official via Twitter through a video on Saturday: She will leave Olympique Lyonnais. Though she did not mention her next club, rumors last week have her transferring to the NWSL, most likely to Utah Royals FC. Sources well in the know with Lyon also confirmed that they have heard the same.

Here’s the translation of Bouhaddi’s video, thanks to Nathalie Chapman:
Hello everyone, I’m taking a moment to leave you a message. In 2009, I was adopted by a club, by its supporters and by a town. It is time for me to spread my wings. I grew up with this club; I built myself a record. For this, I would like to say thanks.
First, I thank the club employees who work every day behind the scenes to bring us the best environment. I thank all our supporters, who travel around France and Europe to encourage us. I want to take a moment to thank my personal trainers who, in spite of my injuries, always knew how to bring me back to my best level.
I had different coaches with different methods, and it allowed me to broaden my knowledge of football and mental techniques. Thank you. I also thank the technical staff and medical staff who work with us through the whole season. Thank you.
In Lyon, we were lucky to mix with players from diverse backgrounds, with different styles. For me it was a real pleasure to know you and to play by your side all these years. Big thanks.
Finally, I couldn’t end without thanking my president, Jean-Michel Aulas, who brought me so much. He brought so much to football. That’s why I thank you. I thank you also, President, because you made it possible for me to live of my passion. I was happy to be at your side for these eleven years.
It is a small world so this is not “goodbye” but “see you soon.” Take care of yourselves.
Should the transfer occur this season, it could likely be during the summer transfer window, June 23 - July 22, 2020. The primary window is also still open through May 28, so a signing could happen before then as well.
