My wife went to a touchy-feely stripper show even though she knows I don’t approve
DEAR DEIDRE: MY wife saw a stripper show for her cousin’s 40th, though she knows I don’t approve of that sort of thing.
My wife becomes a different person around her cousin.
At first she insisted she wasn’t going – then hinted she would. I’m not stupid.
She doesn’t consider my feelings in any decision.
She told me afterwards it was a touchy-feely show and I know that would be the case from what I’ve heard from others.
Why would anyone in a relationship ever go?
I am 41, my wife is 28 and we have twin girls aged six whom I adore.
Even a couple of months on, I feel my wife let me down, and part of me doesn’t want to be with her.

DEIDRE SAYS: I agree that stripper shows appeal to questionable values but you can’t make your marriage work by trying to control your wife.
You need to have confidence in yourself and trust in your relationship to cope with her choosing to go.
Look at why you feel so insecure. Is it just the age gap? Or were you let down by someone you loved in the past?
