With the Premier League season suspended indefinitely until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, clubs are still in the dark over their prospects for next season with relegation, promotion, and European qualification all still on the line.
Sky Sports claimed yesterday that June 8th is the best-case scenario for the league to restart with the Premier League said to be contemplating finishing all the remaining games in a five-week period.
If the league does resume in June, Jose Mourinho’s side will have their work cut out if they still retain hopes of Champions League qualification.
The Lilywhites currently sit in eighth place, just a point ahead of Arsenal and seven points behind Chelsea in fourth.
Statistical analysis website, FiveThirtyEight (as relayed by Football.London) have now calculated the points tally each team will finish the season with and it does not make good reading for Spurs fans.
They predict that Tottenham will finish the campaign with 55 points, which will see the club maintain their current place of eighth in the table.
The algorithm calculates that Spurs only have a 3 per cent chance of finishing fourth and securing a Champions League spot, which increases to 7 per cent if Manchester City fail in their appeal to get European their ban overturned.
The numbers seem to suggest that Tottenham need a minor miracle to qualify for the Champions League for a fifth succesive season.

We have had an extremely poor season so far and just haven’t been able to string results together. However, if the league does resume, it will be a fresh start for everybody and we will have all of our injured stars back.
Making up seven points over nine games will be difficult but certainly not impossible. I believe we have a much higher chance than 3 per cent of finishing in the top four.
