As former Vice President Joe Biden slides into his role as the presumptive Democrat nominee, he is changing his tune on China and taking aim at the president. In a new attack ad posted by his campaign, Biden claimed President Trump has not been hard enough on China and has ignored the advice of health experts.
President Trump is trying to rewrite history when it comes to China and COVID-19 — but the facts don't back him up. Tony Blinken was the Deputy Secretary of State and is one of my top foreign policy advisors. He'll explain. pic.twitter.com/si3vDHnF2r

However, some have pointed out the president was quick to levy a restriction on travel to and from China to slow the spread of COVID-19 to the United States.
“How come I was the only person, the only leader of a country, that closed our borders tightly against China?” he asked.
According to health experts, this move was monumental in saving American lives.
“I harken back to the original decision that was made by the president, of making sure that we knew the scenario that was going on in China. We prevented travel from China to the United States. If we had not done that, we would’ve had many, many more cases right here that we would have to be dealing with.” – Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases
However, Biden called the decision an example of “hysterical xenophobia” earlier this year at a rally in Iowa.

Biden’s went on to say President Trump has refused to push China for answers. However, U.S. officials recently confirmed a full-scale investigation into the origins of the coronavirus.
“We’re doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation that happened,” reiterated the president.
