SARS-Covid-2, a microcosm of Climate Crisis?
Been a while since I posted on here and I apologise for weighing in with something so weighty and depressing. I get how everyone wants to deny it because it's "too depressing". Maybe, just, maybe, it should be depressing that we're wiping ourselves out?
But.
I struggle not to see this current crisis as a microcosm of Climate Crisis.
Like SARS-Covid-2, we didn't take it seriously enough until it was a tad too late. We laughed and took the p'ss until it was too late.

We are heading towards the 6th mass extinction, all science tells us this unless it works for a lobby of an oil or aviation company or something. We're wiping out species like there is no tomorrow. Go us. Yay.
I guess people without kids mightn't care (as long as they hate animals). Lolz, we won't be there. I guess some with kids still won't care. Lolz, we won't be there. But those with kids you love. Really?
Almost all science says we're utterly ****ed (ruined) without drastic action. But, equally, we're right at the tipping point that it can be saved. It needs to be radical (according to almost all scientists), so much that we need to drop all carbon emissions to zero in 20yrs.
This should be screaming from the front page of every newspaper. It's far worse than the current virus, it really is.
So why aren't we talking about it? Heads in sand, we're ok. As long as we can comply with consumerism, we'll be ok. They'll save us, those trillionaires. It was, clearly, their selflessness that made them rich.
Is it just me that sees Trump, et al, slewing through humanity with their unfettered individualism, their capitalist cronyism? I mean, surely you all see this? I accept it's hard to know how to combat it, but surely you all see it?
Maybe some amongst you even deny the climate crisis? It's a left wing socialist, communist scam and Greta is a paid shrill of the Russian and Chinese?
While we're at it, let's all mock a 17yo autistic girl, cleverer girl than any of us. Lol, haha, funny memes, look at the little girl telling us the emperor has no clothes!
