Snoop Dogg is known for a lot of things — his iconic music, his OG status, his bonnets, and his IG words of wisdom. However, things recently went left when he made some disparaging remarks about Gayle King following her interview with Lisa Leslie.
The whole incident played out on social media with Snoop receiving tons of backlash (and some support) for standing up for Kobe Bryant and his legacy. Snoop later apologized … and then took his talents to the Red Table to sit down with Jada Pinkett-Smith and crew. What transpired was a healing and revealing conversation about the rapper’s history, and struggle, with respecting women while rapping lyrics about b!tches and h*es.
What was also revealed in the 30 minute long conversation was Snoop’s desire for men to be allowed to be emotional. This is something he spoke to HipHollywood about 2 years ago while promoting his gospel album, “Bible of Love”. “I cry. I’m sad a lot. I have problems — issues. I’m human,” the DoggFather told HH. It was a moment of vulnerability you rarely see from men — especially Black men.
