DEAR DEIDRE: AT first, my French boyfriend was infatuated with me.
Then he ghosted me before going back to infatuated again. I don’t know where I am.
I met him online when he was working here briefly. He’s 31 and I’m 28. We had cocktails then dinner.
We shared a passionate kiss and he said how beautiful I am. He stayed at my flat and was an amazing lover.
After two heavenly weeks, he returned to Paris. He didn’t reply to my messages and took himself down off social media.
Six weeks later, he requested to follow me again on Instagram. I asked him what happened.
He apologised, saying it was the anniversary of his father’s death and he needed space.
He claims he wants to pick up where we left off but days go by when he doesn’t reply to me. Should I trust him?
