A former campaign staffer for ex-Democrat Rep. Katie Hill was arrested for allegedly hacking her opponents’ websites.
The FBI took Arthur Dam into custody in California Friday in connection with their investigation into Hill’s 2018 congressional win.
Hill stepped down last year after it was revealed she had an inappropriate affair with at least two of her staffers.
According to reports, the Hill campaign received a $500 in-kind contribution from Dam for website security consulting. She would go on to secure the Democrat nomination over her opponents Jess Phoenix and Bryan Caforio.
On the night of the final debate between the candidates, the alleged victims’ accounts went offline.
The Hill campaign has yet to comment on Dam’s arrest.
