Heavyweight superstars Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will enter the ring on Saturday night for the second chapter of their rivalry, which produced a thrilling draw in 2018. Wilder will put his WBC heavyweight title on the line, and the vacant lineal and The Ring heavyweight titles will also be at stake.
Wilder (42-0-1) and Fury (29-0-1) weighed in on Friday night, and both fighters have gained a considerable amount of weight since their first meeting. Fury tipped the scales at 273 pounds, and outweighed Wilder by 42 pounds. Wilder, at 231, is the heaviest he’s ever been in his career.
Both fighters believe they’re in far better condition for their rematch than they were in 2018. Wilder broke his forearm in the buildup to the first fight and was in a cast for several weeks, which he says threw off his timing significantly. Fury, meanwhile, has been training in Las Vegas for the last 10 weeks, and has warned that he’s never had a better training camp.
