MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have been told to call themselves SussEX Royal by jokesters on Twitter.

The couple were forced to ditch their Sussex Royal brand this week as Megxit details were finalised for their new life outside the palace.

The couple had spent tens of thousands of pounds on their website and new image after they quit life as royals.

But in an unprecedented move, the Queen brought in top lawyers to block it and to outline the case in UK law banning the use of the word “royal” for financial gain, The Mirror reports.

Before last night, pals said that Meghan believed there was no legal comeback for the Queen if they continued to use the term after quitting on March 31.

In their lengthy statement last night, Meghan and Harry confirmed their trademark applications for Sussex Royal had been removed.

Yet many Brits have seen the lighter side of the drastic changes – and suggested an easy fix.

Joking on Twitter, many pointed out the couple could simply add a hyphen to create “Suss-ex Royal”.

One wrote: “How about Suss-Exroyal” as a trademark?”

Another added: “If Harry and Meghan can’t brand themselves Sussex Royal, a simple hyphen will fix it.”

A third said: “Maybe they’ll have to trademark ‘Suss-ex Royal’ and re-brand the website according to reflect their real status.”

It is the latest humiliation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after Megxit.

And it means Harry and Meghan have “ended up completely on the outside” of the royal family, BBC Royal Correspondent Johnny Dymond said last night.

Following lengthy Buckingham Palace talks, The Queen and senior royal officials ruled the couple cannot use “Royal” in their new commercial lives as they look to gain “financial independence” after moving to Canada.

The statement also added that Harry remains sixth in line to the throne, and that the family are still entitled to “effective security to protect them and their son” following controversy over their protection bill – estimated to be as much as £6million.

The couple, who are currently living in an £8m mansion on Vancouver Island, have already been booted out of their Buckingham Palace officeand Harry must ditch his honorary military positions for at least 12 months.

The couple will return to the UK at the end of the month to complete their last royal engagements, including joining the Royal Family at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
