MEGHAN Markle will be “front and centre” of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games but Kate Middleton and Prince William will miss it, it was claimed today.
The Duke of Sussex is working “flat out” for the event to be held in The Hague in 12 weeks’ time which sees injured military personnel competing against one another.
The Sun Online today can reveal how the 35-year-old’s passion for the games is shared by wife Meghan, 38.
They said: “Harry and Meghan will be at the front of the centre of the Games.
“Meghan knows how important it is to Harry and will be at his side.”
And while Harry and Meghan are hoping to attend as many events as possible, other members of the Royal Family are unlikely to head to the Netherlands for the event.
But those close to Harry insist the non-appearance of William and other Royal figures – father Prince Charles has also attended events in the past too – should not be seen as a snub.
The insider said: “William had not been expected to attend even before the news broke about Harry and Meghan’s decision to step away from public life.
“So it is highly unlikely that he and Kate will be a part of the event in any way. But it isn’t a snub. The entire Royal Family remain hugely supportive and very proud of Harry’s work on Invictus and think it is a wonderful event.
“It’s very much in Harry’s vision although he has regularly turned to his father for advice and support over the years. It is unlikely to be any different this time round but Harry will be front and centre.”
Harry’s dream of putting on the best ever Games comes after an announcement that rock-legend Bon Jovi was recording an official song for the event.
The couple will return to the UK at the end of the month to conduct a number of royal engagements before finally leaving on March 31.
They have been allowed to keep their HRH titles but have been forced to accept that they will not use them publicly as they tout for business around the globe.
Jonny Dymond, the BBC Royal Correspondent, said last night: “Now they have ended up really completely on the outside.
“Yes of course, there is still the family role and the private role and they are clearly always going to be members of the private side of the royal family.
“But publicly there is no role at all. No tours, no titles, nothing.
Harry and Meghan have axed their 15 UK staff, in their surest sign they will never return to Britain to live.
The couple, who are currently living in an £8m mansion on Vancouver Island, have already been booted out of their Buckingham Palace office and Harry must ditch his honorary military positions for at least 12 months.
The couple will return to the UK at the end of the month to complete their last royal engagements, including joining the Royal Family at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
They are also expected to attend Invictus Games events while Meghan will mark International Women’s Day.
