Tottenham issue update on Kane injury including expected return month
Tottenham Hotspur have issued an update on Harry Kane’s injury after the striker sustained a torn hamstring against Southampton on New Year’s Day.
Kane stretched to poke home an equaliser to make it 1-1 on the day, only to see it ruled out for offside as he was forced down the tunnel on the 75th minute.
Spurs have now announced that further assessments have led them to the decision that Kane will undergo surgery on his ruptured tendon in his left hamstring.
However, while the news sounds all bad, Tottenham do expect that the need for surgery will no prolong that time that the striker would have been out for anyway.
They say that they expect Kane to return to training in April, handing him a similar time frame to Moussa Sissoko.
This will mean that Harry will miss the two legs home and away against RB Leipzig in the Champions League knockout rounds.
