Did Steph Curry give a recruiting pitch to Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo?

In answer to the obvious question for those of you who were not at the Chase Center on Wednesday night: Stephen Curry did not present flowers and chocolates to Giannis Antetokounmpo before the Milwaukee Bucks handed the Warriors their sixth loss in a row.

Nor did Curry bat his eyelids at Antetokounmpo as the Greek Freak romped past the Warriors bench. Furthermore, Curry didn’t mouth, “call me,” to the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player.

It was more like, “Let’s do this, come on.”

There has been baseless chit chat about Antetokounmpo throwing in with the Warriors even as the Warriors were a championship-caliber powerhouse. But now, with the Dubs hip deep in a lost season and looking to rebuild a superteam, you can bet that kind of conjecture is going to get real in the upcoming months.

Give you an example. Just before the start of this season, USA Today reported that Antetokounmpo told a Harvard professor that if the Bucks underperform this season, it would make his decision on whether to stick with the team “a lot more difficult.” (The Bucks currently have the best record in the NBA.)

Give you another example: Apparently Curry signed one of his jerseys for Antetokounmpo.

Couldn’t read it because it was upside down from my angle, and still photos aren’t allowed in locker rooms, but Steph wrote a long note on the “0” half of the “30.”

Finally, the Warriors on Wednesday celebrated Greek Heritage Night.

You can’t make up stuff like that. Well you could, but you would be subject to a saliva test.
