Mum creates make-up station in her hallway as her room is too small – and people are praising her genius use of space
A MUM has revealed her bedroom is so small she decided to create a make-up station in her hallway – and people are praising her creative solution.
KimberleyJayne Martin, 32, claimed her bedroom was so small you ‘couldn’t swing a cat’, and she had nowhere to get ready.
With her massive glittery bed taking up nearly all the floor space in her room, KimberleyJayne decided to set up a beauty station in the hallway instead.
The mum drilled holes and put up two shelves, mounted a mirror and bought a stool to create her DIY dressing table.
KimberleyJayne, from Staffordshire, later added matching pink baskets to store all her make-up and accessories.
The care assistant shared snaps of her handiwork to Facebook group DIY On A Budget, where more than 1,400 people have liked her idea.
She said: “Jumped on the bandwagon.
“All I wanna do now is apply my makeup and do my hair.
“When you haven’t got room in your bedroom to swing a cat let alone store a dressing table…
“So you have to use the stairs landing wall.”

She was chuffed with the outcome, describing her project as “love love love love”, telling Fabulous Digital: “It just clicked to me why I have not used my landing space before now.”
Other women have been inspired to create their own dressing tables in other parts of their home.
Commenting on her post, one woman said: “So cheap and easy to do. Takes less floor space.”
Another wrote: “This is such an amazing idea.”
A third said: “Omg… I’m so doing this as no room in my room.”
Someone else thought: “Love this – also for early mornings wouldn’t wake the hubby up getting ready!”
While this person added: “Honestly it’s such a good idea putting it there, wouldn’t have thought of that!”
