The Golden State Warriors could be without Draymond Green and D'Angelo Russell when they face the Kings in Sacramento on Monday.
SAN FRANCISCO — Point guard D’Angelo Russell (right shoulder contusion) and forward Draymond Green (ankle) are considered questionable for the Warriors’ game Monday night against the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center.
Center Kevon Looney, who has missed the last six games with a left abdominal strain, is out. Though he did not practice Sunday in San Francisco, he was seen in the facility doing sprints and light on-court work.
After Saturday’s loss to the Pistons, during which Green was ejected, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he could look to give Green a few days off.
“I think the last couple games he’s looked tired,” Kerr said. “I think you got to remember that he’s the lone guy, the lone holdover from the group that’s been to the Finals five years in a row, and he looks tired to me.”
On Monday, Russell could return after being sidelined three games since bruising his shoulder in a collision with guard Luka Doncic in last Saturday’s loss to the Mavericks. Kerr on Saturday seemed hopeful that Russell could play in Sacramento.
If Russell does miss the game, his absence will continue to free up playing time for Ky Bowman, Jacob Evans and Jordan Poole. Without Green, Eric Paschall and Omari Spellman should see increased minutes.
