The first Sunday of the year is always a big deal in the world of showbiz, because it marks the beginning of awards season with the arrival of the Golden Globes.
Unlike other awards shows like the Oscars or Baftas, the Golden Globes gives out to awards to the most celebrated stars from both the big and small screen, meaning the guest list is always especially A-list.
This year, we can look forward to yet another star-studded bash, with Netflix originals Marriage Story and The Crown among the top nominees, meaning we can expect stars like Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver, Olivia Colman and Helena Bonham Carter to make appearances on the red carpet.
Elsewhere, Fleabag is also among the night’s top contenders, meaning we should all be keeping an eye out for Phoebe Waller-Bridge as she makes her way into the awards show, while Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is among the most-nominated films, with its top names Leonardo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie all up for awards.
Aside from the aforementioned, there are a few more big British stars who’ll be putting in an appearance, including Kit Harington (the sole nominee from the divisive final series of Game Of Thrones), Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer, Late Night star Emma Thompson and Cynthia Erivo, who has won huge critical acclaim for her performance in the recent Harriet Tubman biopic.
Of course, for the time being we’re still waiting on the stars’ arrivals, but make sure you keep checking HuffPost UK, where we’ll be updating this article with all the red carpet snaps as they come in.
In the meantime, here’s a look back at some of last year’s Golden Globes snaps...
