Hilarious video shows kids’ best reactions to bizarre gifts including ear buds, pants and a laminator
HOME videos have captured kids’ hilarious reactions to weird and wonderful gifts including Q-tips, a laminator and underpants.
Parents often try and prank their kids at Christmas and wrap everyday items as presents, with the joke sometimes backfiring.
Children often love the strangest gifts, and a compilation of their best reactions has been shared on Peachy’s Facebook page, racking up more than a million views.
Among the funniest comebacks is a girl who’s given a doll, and manages to self-censor herself by saying: “What the beep.”
One boy – dressed in epic Santa-themed pyjamas – can’t hide his delight as rips of wrapping paper and runs around the room in excitement.
Just as you were wondering what amazing thing he was given, he yells: “I have the underwear!”
A similarly practical gift didn’t go down well with another child, who was given socks for Christmas.
He declares socks “isn’t a present”, as the adults around him laugh in amusement.
“It’s supposed to be a toy”, he says in a sad voice.
Other unimpressed children voice their disappointment when they get a jar of peanut butter and a sandwich.
One of the annoyed kids says: “That’s all we get?”
But some are clearly delighted with their presents, with one boy unwrapping Q-tips.
And just as you think his parents have pranked him with a joke gift, he says: “It’s just what I wanted.
“Q-Tips. I told you Santa makes Q-tips.”
Another over-the-top reaction comes from a little girl – also in festive pjs – who starts screaming thanks and hugs her dad.
Her brother doesn’t seem to understand her reaction, and asks: “What in tarnation is she so excited about?”
And she replies, while still in disbelief: “It’s a laminator.”
Meanwhile one kid, who got a cheque, squeals in delight over his ‘rectangle’.
Food-themed items are popular, with one little boy thrilled to receive a bottle of ketchup, while another is pleased with a box of Mac n’ Cheese.
