Where to watch 49ers vs. Rams if you don’t have NFL Network
Set your DVRs now, 49ers fans. This coming Saturday’s game against the Rams, which could also be called The Atonement Bowl, will be shown locally on KNTV-NBC Bay Area (cable Channel 3).
The Week 16 showdown at Levi’s Stadium that kicks off at 5:15 p.m. (PT) was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon but flexed into the Saturday prime time spot by the NFL Network earlier this month.
Playing a day earlier probably appeals to both the 49ers and Rams, who each suffered humbling losses on Sunday. The 49ers (11-3) were dealt a 29-22 upset defeat by the Falcons, and the Rams were ripped 44-21 in Dallas.
Should the 49ers beat the Rams for a season sweep, it would set up a monumental game in Seattle a week from this Sunday to determine the NFC West championship. There’s a strong possibility the 49ers-Seahawks Week 17 showdown will also be flexed into the currently open prime time slot on NBC.
The Rams (8-6) come into Levi’s with their playoff hopes still alive. Los Angeles needs to beat the 49ers and then the Cardinals in the regular season finale, and have the Vikings lose out to make the postseason.
This won’t be easy for Los Angeles, which lost to the 49ers 20-7 at home two months ago. The Rams come into Saturday’s game as the biggest underdogs in Sean McVay’s three-year tenure in L.A. — the 49ers are 6.5-point favorites.
