AN ANIMAL abuser has been spotted swigging a can of beer outside court after admitting sick cruelty to her dog who died in agony.

Rebecca McKinnon, 23, was pictured smiling after pleading guilty to causing painful suffering to her Mastiff named Misty as well as failing to ensure her welfare.

The dog was found with its skin covered in sores and the pet was in such agony she could hardly stand or walk.

Misty, co-owned by McKinnon and ex-boyfriend Nathan Sinnitt, had to be put to sleep due to the pain she endured.

HORRIFIC ABUSE

A court previously heard the dog endured “significant, prolonged suffering” before vets ended her misery, Chronicle Live reported.

Sinnit avoided being sent to prison last month for his role in neglecting the dog following an RSPCA prosecution.

The 23-year-old has now been warned she could be behind bars for Christmas after admitting to playing a part in the dog’s painful death.

North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court heard that the pair had previously been due in court together.

The court also heard on Friday that the case had initially been proved in absence against her.

However, McKinnon was allowed to enter pleas to the charges after alleging their relationship was violent and she “couldn’t stand to be in the same room” as Sinnitt, the news outlet reported.

McKinnon was warned that all options will be open to magistrates – including custody – when she is sentenced on December 20.
