Four of the businesses robbed were in the 6200 and 6400 blocks of South Western Avenue, police said.
Chicago police are warning business owners in Chicago Lawn to be on alert after a series of robberies were reported at businesses in the Southwest Side area.
In each incident, two men would enter the building, threaten employees and demand money, Chicago police said. The men were armed in some of these robberies.
The seven robberies happened at all hours of the day between Oct. 28 and Nov. 21, police said.
Four of the businesses robbed were located in the 6200 and 6400 blocks of South Western Avenue, police said. Two more businesses were in the 6200 and 6300 blocks of South Talman Avenue, and the final robbery was in the 6200 block of South Rockwell Street.
One suspect was described as a man in his late teens, standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-10 and weighing between 120 and 170 pounds, police said. The other man was in his 30s or early 40s, standing between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-3 and weighing between 185 and 230 pounds.
