Murdered Ellie Gould, 17, demanded tougher laws on young killers weeks before her teen boyfriend, 17, killed her
MURDERED teen Ellie Gould wrote an essay demanding proper punishment for young killers — weeks before her boyfriend killed her.
Ellie, 17, who was set for a police career, said kids who kill are “unforgivable” in an A-Level assignment.
She argued her case by referring to the murder of James Bulger, two, in 1993. Ellie was stabbed to death by Thomas Griffiths, 17, at her parents’ home the day after she dumped him.
He got at least 12½ years’ jail — which her parents want extended.
Mum Carole, of Calne, Wilts, said: “Ellie thought sentences for child killers should bring justice for victims’ families so that’s what we’re fighting for.
“Ellie would be screaming at me to get her the justice she deserves.”
Carole added: “She could judge a character well and loved watching detective programmes.
“I’ll never forgive Griffiths. It was violent and so out of the blue. It’s shocking that he was capable of such violence.”

Griffiths will be eligible to apply for a sentence reduction after half the time imposed.
Because he was under 18, terms can be shortened if “the offender’s welfare may be seriously prejudiced by his continued imprisonment”.
Ellie’s family say he should serve at least 17 years — equal to her age — given his lack of remorse. A decision on any review will be made on December 6.
