Ian Wright compares stingy I’m A Celeb food rations to when Arsene Wenger took over Arsenal
IAN WRIGHT has compared the stingy food rations of I’m A Celeb to when Arsene Wenger arrived at Arsenal.
The basic portions of rice and beans never leave jungle stars satisfied.
And Wright has gone as far as to compare it to when Wenger stopped Gunners stars gorging on fish and chips or pie and mash.
The pundit-turned-jungle dweller said: “I don’t think it’s five days yet and I’m already doing the… I’m struggling with eating.
“When Arsene Wenger first came to Arsenal, we literally changed from eating what we wanted to literally bland, I’m talking bland, food – almost similar.
“It’s almost taken me back to remembering how bland the food was.”
Wenger arrived at Arsenal in October 1996, taking over from Bruce Rioch.
Wright had won the FA Cup, League Cup and Cup Winners’ cup already at Arsenal under George Graham.
But under Wenger, he was able to add that elusive Premier League medal to his collection.
The England international scored an impressive 30 goals in his first season under Wenger, despite the food evidently not being to his taste.

The squad, featuring the likes of Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp, went from strength to strength – shedding the 1-0 to the Arsenal reputation forged under George Graham.
Instead, they became known as one of the most expansive, entertaining sides in Premier League history.
It is Wright’s former manager at West Ham that he is currently trying to emulate, however, as he looks to succeed Harry Redknapp as reigning King of the Jungle.
