SOME of the world’s best supercars are set to go under the hammer as a part of £21million auction.
Limited-edition motors from McLaren, Ferrari and Lamborghini are just some of the stunning cars that will feature at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix sale.
Hosted by RM Sotheby’s, the auction will sell off a total of 40 cars from the world’s most luxurious manufacturers.
Arguably the two most appealing motors on offer are a 2015 Ferrari FXX K and 2017 Pagani Zonda Aether.
Only offered to Ferrari’s biggest buyers when it was first released, the FXX is just one of 38 models to have ever been produced.
The track car boasts a 6.2-litre V12 engine which allows it to produce a staggering 1,035bhp.
Despite only having just over 150 miles on the clock, the Italian supercar is expected to sell for £3.8million.
The Pagani Zonda is another exclusive motor which is a certainty to get plenty of interest, with it one of 140 models ever produced.
Like the Ferrari, the F1-style car packs plenty under the hood thanks to a 7.3-litre V12 engine which produces 749bhp.
But you better be willing to spend big as the Zonda has a price tag of £4.3million.
The 2005 Maserati MC12 is another Italian motor which will turn heads from car lovers around the world.
The £2.7million model is one of 50 examples built and has single ownership.
Other vehicles expected to get plenty of interest include the 2001 Lamborghini Diablo, 1990 Ferrari F40 and 2010 Mercedes Benz SLR Stirling Moss.
A Ferrari F2002 driven by seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher to victory in three GPs is also expected to sell for £6.1million.
A rare Jaguar used by a Bond villain in the latest film Spectre will also feature in the auction.
Barney Ruprecht, car specialist at RM Sotheby’s, said: “Hypercars are a segment of particular interest within the Middle East and assembling a lineup like this reflects changing market tastes while also respecting tradition.
“Each of the cars on offer demonstrates the heritage of their respective marque in a contemporary way.
“The Senna GTR and the SLR Stirling Moss pay homage to two legendary team drivers; the Agera R, much like the Zonda Aether, is one of the latest, thriving models from a recently founded manufacturer that has proven competitive, and the MC12 represents the illustrious trident at its pinnacle of engineering and design.
“These incredible feats of engineering will be right at home in the Formula 1 environment.”
