‘Smiling stranger asked man to see his young son then punched the child’s face’
A smiling stranger walked up to a father and asked to see his five year old son – then whacked the little boy in the face, police say.
Charlotte Graham is said to have approached the dad as he lifted the boy out of a car seat near a Walgreens drugstore in Wichita Falls, Texas on Friday.
She innocently asked to have a closer look at the child – before her facial expression changed into an aggressive snarl and she swung her fist at the youngster, it is claimed.
The stunned dad tried to shield his son from the blow, but the youngster was still struck on the left cheek, police say.
He then managed to elbow Graham out of the way, and called police while his distraught son asked if his tooth was going to fall out.
Graham reportedly fled the scene, but was found by police in a nearby alleyway shortly afterwards.
She is said to have told police she had a gun after officers began to approach her.

Police soon established that Graham was also lying about being pregnant, KFDX reported.
She is further said to have falsely claimed that she was working for the FBI, and demanded cops call the Bureau to confirm her identity.
Graham has been charged with public intoxication and reckless bodily injury to a child.
Her bond has been set at $5,000.
