Eriksen reveals the difference between playing for Denmark and Spurs for him
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Christian Eriksen, has revealed that there are some differences between playing for Spurs and playing for his native country of Denmark.
Eriksen has been a key figure in both camps fora number of years now, but he finds the experience differs between club and country.
So far this season, Eriksen has scored two and assisted just one goal in 14 games for Tottenham far below his usually high creative standards (Transfer Markt).
Meanwhile, across the six EURO 2020 Group D qualifying matches the Great Dane has played for his country over the past year, he has managed three goals and four assists (Transfer Markt).
Eriksen’s current contract in North London comes to an end in the summer of 2020, meaning that this could well be his last season at Spurs.
The Dane is, therefore, free to talk to any non-English clubs in January about a pre-contract agreement ahead of a summer free transfer.
Eriksen had this to say on the difference between Denmark and Spurs (BT): “The national team is something else to play for than the club team. They are two very different things. So the drop I may have got in the club, which is not a big drop, should not matter.
“But at least I have enough confidence in the bank to be able to play some nice football. So that shouldn’t hamper me.”
