Tributes to ‘well-loved’ granddad, 65, knocked down and killed as he left Wetherby races
A GRANDDAD has been remembered as a “well-loved” family member after he was knocked down and killed as he left the Wetherby races.
Adrian Scott, 65, died after he was hit by a silver Mercedes on Saturday evening.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on York Road just after 5pm but he tragically died.
Tributes were today paid to the grandfather as police continue their investigations into the horrific crash.
His family said: “Adrian was a well-loved father, father-in-law, grandad, brother, brother-in-law , uncle and friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all.
“We would like to thank all those who were with him at the time, especially the emergency services and those who helped at the scene. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Lee Roberts and his family at this tragic time.”
A 52-year-old man was also hurt in the crash.
He was flown to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The Mercedes driver, a 40-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was later released under investigation.

The road was closed off after the crash but has since been reopened.
