Brit star Darren Till tell haters ‘f*** you’ as he outsmarted Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244

DARREN TILL made a successful leap to middleweight outsmarting Kelvin Gastelum in the UFC 244 co-main event – and told his doubters to where to go.

The Scouser was coming off consecutive welterweight losses – against ex-champion Tyron Woodley and New York headliner Jorge Masvidal – before moving up to 185lbs.

And after controlling the fight on the feet, only to receive a split-decision verdict against ex-interim title challenger Gastelum, Till said: “This fight I was coming back from a really dark place.

“To come off two devastating losses I proved a lot of f***ing doubters wrong.

“I wish some would message me tonight and say something about it.

“F**k yous.

“I’m 26, I’m co-main eventing MSG.

“I’m building myself up again. F*** all them doubters again.”

Gastelum started the fight on the front foot but it was Till who engaged the clinch and out-muscled his UFC rival.

At the end of the round the Brit scored with stinging left hands leaving his mark on Mexican-American bruiser Gastelum.

In round two England’s newest middleweight began to let his striking prevail landing another hard rear hand before sinking in a heavy knee.

At the end of the second boos could be heard around Madison Square Garden, as the all-out striking fest between failed to materialise, with a chess match instead playing out.

In the third round Gastelum shot for a desperate takedown but Till was quick to react and tripped his man over.

The 26-year-old Brit only narrowly grazed his opponent’s chin with an audacious knee but was helpless to defend a late Gastelum takedown.

After three rounds Till made it a winning debut at 185lbs, winning for the first time since May 2018.
