Striker admits he regrets not forcing a move to Spurs or Liverpool
Former Premier League striker Bobby Zamora has revealed that the regret he has at not pushing through a move to Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur earlier in his career.
Zamora revealed that the Premier League pair wanted to secure his services following his best season for Fulham when he scored eight times in the top flight in the 2009/10 campaign (Premier League).
Zamora had a brief stint at White Hart Lane earlier in his career when he joined Glenn Hoddle’s side from Brighton in a £1.5million deal (Sky Sports).
He saw his chances limited in North London and only managed to score one goal before moving across the capital where he signed for West Ham United as part of a deal which took Jermain Defoe to Spurs (Independent).
A move failed to materialise at the height of his powers at Fulham with the forward admitting that he would have favoured a move to Liverpool over Spurs.
“Maybe I should have dealt with it differently and done what I’ve seen other people do to get the move that they want,” Zamora told the Offside Rule Podcast.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Fulham when I stayed there but maybe that would be one regret, not going to Liverpool or Spurs at that top time. Probably Liverpool more than Spurs.”
