Tyson Fury confirms rematch with Deontay Wilder on February 22 and refuses to rule out WWE return after Crown Jewel win

TYSON FURY has confirmed that he will take part in his highly-anticipated rematch with Deontay Wilder on February 22 after refusing to rule out a future WWE stint.

The Gypsy King – who had swapped the boxing ring for wrestling’s squared circle – won on his wrestling debut after KO’ing Braun Strowman with a huge punch at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

There had been fears that the 31-year-old had would be taking his gloves off for good but Fury confirmed that he will still face Wilder next year.

In an interview with WWE.com after his fight in Riyadh, the Brit addressed whether fans could see more of him in a wrestling ring in the future.

Fury replied: “I’ve got a big fella called Deontay Wilder to see too February 22nd, and then we’ll see where we go from there.”

The lineal heavyweight champion continued his undefeated sporting dominance after winning by count-out against the Monster Among Men Strowman.

Of the experience, Fury added: “It was absolutely fantastic. Great experience, I’m just really happy to be here in Saudi Arabia and a massive show.

“Braun is definitely the Monster Among Men, when I hit him with that power driving right hand, I can’t believe he got back up and slammed me to the floor.

“It was a bit of a cheap shot after the bell but what can we do? It’s WWE.”

Fury’s attention will now be focused on Wilder, who predicted that his rival would use his wrestling stint to avoid their rematch.

In an exclusive interview with SunSport this week, the Bronze Bomber said: “I’m not surprised he got into WWE.

“We’d been saying this a long time ago that he’s gonna try it, he’s been making excuses about the rematch.

“Now he’s got into the WWE, he’s gonna get ‘injured’ make up excuses and lo and behold we already hearing about he sprained his ankle.

The pair fought to a thrilling draw last December and Fury revealed that their rematch could take place in the home of his wrestling debut in Saudi Arabia.

The Gypsy King sent fans wild against Strowman by reenacting his final-round revival in his first fight against Wilder in true Undertaker style.

Elsewhere on the pay-per-view, Brock Lesnar squashed UFC legend Cain Velasquez in just 88 seconds while Lacey Evans and Natalya took part in the first-ever women’s match in Saudi Arabia.
