Watch Scott McTominay bark orders at senior Man Utd team-mates and prove 22-year-old is a ‘future captain’
MANCHESTER UNITED fans have labelled Scott McTominay as a “future captain” after footage emerged of him ordering around his team-mates against Chelsea.
The 22-year-old has been praised by fans over his leadership skills as he starred during the 2-1 Carabao Cup win against the Blues at Stamford Bridge last night.
In a clip posted on social media, McTominay can be seen barking orders to his team-mates during the closing stages of the match.
Red Devils supporters were loving his actions, as one tweeted: “Scott McTominay didn’t just boss the midfield last night but his leadership skills to talk to experienced players in telling them where to be was great. 92nd minute. 22 years of age.”
Another said: “Future captain, absolutely no doubt!
A third added: “Future captain material. Great to see someone lead in the squad. Surely has to be between him and Maguire for the armband.”
One quipped: “Already a better club captain than Young.”
Another stated: “My guy is 22 and demonstrated what a Captain is supposed to do in one game than Ashley Young in all of last year and before.”
Former United defender Wes Brown has also backed McTominay to get the armband in the near future.
He told 888sport: “You would probably say that Scott is one of the first names on the team-sheet at the moment.

“You wouldn’t have said that at the beginning but he’s consistently well. He’s stepping up and taken that leadership role and he’s not fazed by anything.
“He’s a good passer, a big tall lad and a good runner. He has definitely been one of the best players, along with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and you want him playing every week at the moment.
“He hasn’t failed at anything, if anything he has excelled and with him being a young lad you can only see him getting better. His attitude is brilliant and he gives it everything.”
