Mastercard Connects SMB Cardholders To Microsoft Tech
Mastercard is expanding its offering to small business cardholders in collaboration with Microsoft.
In an announcement on Monday (Oct. 28), Mastercard said its small business cardholders will now gain access to a range of Mastercard enterprise solutions. For users of Mastercard Business and Mastercard Business World Elite products, Mastercard will connect U.S. small business clients to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Advertising.
“We’re committed to delivering a solid foundation of benefits and offerings for our small business cardholders that help them thrive in their day-to-day business operations,” said Mastercard Head of North America Small Business Ginger Siegel in a statement. “As a result, we’re continuing to bring together our smartest solutions with transformational offerings from strategic partners like Microsoft to enable the rapid delivery and design of best-in-class solutions that simplify and enhance small business owners’ lives.”
In its announcement, Mastercard said access to Microsoft 365 will enable small businesses to obtain a suite of cloud services including Word and Excel, as well as email, chat, security and file storage. Microsoft Advertising, meanwhile, will enable small businesses to obtain targeted marketing services to generate leads, visits and purchases, with a limited campaign allowing select SMBs to obtain a $125 advertising credit after spending $10 on a card.
“We believe in the power of the cloud to help business owners reach their objectives,” said Microsoft 365 CVP Jared Spataro in another statement. “We’re excited to extend the power of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Advertising to make it easier than ever for small business owners to run and grow their business.”
Mastercard launched a similar collaboration with Salesforce and Intuit earlier this year in a deal that connects joint small business clients to Salesforce and Intuit products and services.
Last week, Mastercard also announced an expansion of its existing partnership with Brex, enabling the commercial card startup to issue Mastercard cards to its startup and small business customers and to access a range of benefits and services from the Mastercard network.
