Elaine Hendrix to Play Alexis Carrington on The CW’s ‘Dynasty’
“The Parent Trap” star Elaine Hendrix has joined the cast of The CW’s “Dynasty” reboot as the new Alexis Carrington, a spokesperson for the network confirmed to TheWrap. According to the showrunner, “Alexis is back in Atlanta, with a new look, a new man, and plenty of scores to settle.”
Hendrix will play Carrington as a series regular on the show, which is currently airing its third season. She replaces Nicollette Sheridan, who played Carrington in seasons one and two of the reboot. Sheridan exited the soap opera to “focus on some personal family responsibilities,” the network and CBS Studios told TheWrap in February.
After Sheridan’s departure, Elizabeth Gillies, who also plays Carrington’s daughter Fallon, briefly took over the role.

The role of the scheming matriarch was made famous by Joan Collins, who played Carrington on the original “Dynasty” which originally aired on ABC from 1981 to 1989.
Hendrix is also known for playing the role of Ava on the FX series “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll,” which Gillies was also a part of. On “Dynasty,” Hendrix’s Carrington will be a series regular. Her upcoming projects include Spectrum Originals and Paramount Network’s “Paradise Lost,” and will also appear in the upcoming feature film “The Country Club.” She has also recently played Susan Alders on “Proven Innocent” and Gwen in the film “Adventures of Dally & Spanky.”
“Dynasty” airs on Fridays at 9/8c on The CW.
