This Smith Vantage helmet is the best-of-the-best. Period. It sweeps 1st place in most ski/snowboard helmet rankings, but we had to bump it down a notch due to the high price. However, if you can afford it, you won’t be disappointed. BEST BACKCOUNTRY HELMET
When you’re trekking through a back trail or going on a leisurely ski tour, helmets are still highly recommended. However, helmets for backcountry skiing can be much smaller and more lightweight than regular helmets.
