Crystal Palace chasing starlet Scott Banks despite troubles for Dundee United and Scotland
CRYSTAL PALACE want Scottish babe Scott Banks in January — despite his troubles for club and country.
Dundee United midfielder Banks, 18, will be plucked by the Eagles who have been on his trail for months.
Banks will not sign a new deal and United have not been picking him as his contract runs out in the summer.
He is also out of the Scotland youth set-up as a result.
But Palace hope they can reach a compromise figure and land the promising youngster for their squad.
Last selected for a spot on the bench in September, Banks hasn’t got on the pitch for United since the opening day of the season.
The Scottish Championship side had been getting on fine in his absence but lost 4-0 to Queen of the South on Saturday to see their lead atop the table cut to just goal difference.
