Kind-hearted police officer buys car seats for broke mother after catching her driving with sons unrestrained
A police officer pulled a mother over after spotting her kids jumping around in the back of her car – then bought them all seats when she said she was too broke to do so.
Milwaukee Police Officer Kevin Zimmermann pulled Andrella Jackson over for a registration issue when he noticed she had three young children in the back of the car – and none of them were secured in car seats.
Zimmermann said: ‘There was three kids in the back, two of them were very young. (They) Didn’t notice any car seats or any restraints. Clearly, they weren’t wearing seat belts because they’re jumping around back there waving at me.’
Jackson told Zimmermann that she had just bought the vehicle from a car action and was driving it home. She confessed that she did not have time to register it and admitted she does not have the money to pay for child seats.
Zimmermann was sympathetic to Jackson’s story and let her off with a warning – then decided he wanted to help her out.
He said: ‘Hey, I want to do something for you and your kids. I just need their weights.’
Jackson was confused by the question, but gave Zimmerman the information he needed anyway.

‘She just kept saying, “What?!” She looked shocked,’ Zimmermann told Fox 6.
‘She was like, “Thank you!” and her little kids came out. Unpacked them, installed them in her car, showed her the proper way to install them.’
He continued: ‘I’m a father and I knew if something were to happen to them – I’d be devastated if it happened to my kids.’
Zimmermann told reporters he hopes other parents will see his story and make their kids’ car safety a priority.
‘I wanted to do whatever I could to make sure that the kids were safe,’ he said.
