ARSENAL boss Unai Emery will “definitely” try to sign loan star Dani Ceballos on a permanent transfer from Real Madrid, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has been a huge hit at the Emirates since joining in the summer, with the Spanish midfielder featuring in all 11 games this season.
Ceballos recently dealt the Gunners a huge blow by revealing he still wants to fulfil his dream of succeeding at Real Madrid.
Despite this, his performances since arriving in North London means Emery will “definitely try to sign” the ex-Real Betis star, according to AS.
Los Blancos allowed Ceballos to link up with Arsenal on a season-long loan after being deemed as surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.
But the report adds that Emery is still aware that it will be difficult to convince Zinedine Zidane to part company with the midfielder on a permanent basis.
Ceballos insisted that part of the reason he joined Arsenal was to be named in Robert Moreno’s Euro 2020 squad.

Speaking to Radio Marca, he said: “When I don’t play, I don’t enjoy myself.
“These two years (at Real Madrid) I’ve learned a lot from the club, but now I’m enjoying it (football).
“I knew it was an important year, the coach has doubts and he who doesn’t play doesn’t go (to Euro 2020), so it was a good time to go on loan.
“With (Unai) Emery’s confidence I may have many chances to be in the Euros squad.
“I never thought about going permanently. My goal is to succeed at Real Madrid. I will fight to fulfil my dream.”
Ceballos was named in the most recent Spain squad, but was involved in a bizarre bust-up during the 1-1 draw with Sweden after warning opponent Kristoffer Olsson to “stop acting like Lionel Messi”.
It was a surprise that the star was even able to feature in the game after pulling out of Spain’s training session with a hamstring injury last week.

Ceballos has already clocked up ten appearances under Unai Emery, with his man-of-the-match debut against Burnley a highlight.
He netted his first Arsenal goal in the 4-0 Europa League win over Standard Liege earlier this month.
And Ceballos’ form appears to have signalled the end of Mesut Ozil’s career in North London, with the German wanted by Turkish side Fenerbahce.
