Little girl, three, killed by car in front her horrified mum after it rolled back and ran her over outside nursery
A LITTLE girl was crushed by a 4×4 as she waited for her mum outside a nursery.
Charlotte, three, was being picked up from Melbourne’s Kiddy Palace Learning Centre in Melbourne when she was stuck on Monday afternoon.
Her mum, 26, had been tending to another child when the vehicle rolled backwards.
The mum was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries – but her daughter died at the scene.
Neighbour Carrie Hartley heard a “weird” noise followed by screams on Monday afternoon.
She said: “We jumped up and had a look over and there were just people everywhere. It was just chaos. It’s very sad.”
Detective Sergeant Daryll Out said:”We certainly urge anybody who’s around children to be very careful and mindful that terrible accidents such as these can occur if everyone is not paying full attention to what they are doing.”
