Rugby World Cup player pleads for help to find his stolen kit

Rugby union world cup star Samuel Matavesi has put out a call for help after his tournament memorabilia was stolen from his car.

The Cornish Pirate and Fiji forward stopped over in London on his way back from Japan after his nation’s exit in at the hands of Wales and Australia.

Using the Notes app Matavesi posted the incident in full on social media, asking for it to be shared as widely as possible to track down the lost gear.

He wrote: ‘After arriving from Japan I stayed the evening in London.

‘We stayed in Shoreditch and parked the car over night at NCP Finsbury square car park, when we returned the following day our car had been burgled and my world cup kit bags had been stolen from the car.

‘The bags contained three Fiji world cup jerseys plus other signed Fiji shirts, world cup cap and presentation medal, rugby kit, boots, trainers gym shoes and other personal belongings and rugby memorabilia.

‘Could you please share this and look out for any shirts, kits, boots etc that come up online or you hear or see anything from around the area.

He signed it off with a call for it to be shared and that ‘any help would be awesome’.
