Sara Bareilles has achieved many career highlights over the years and she just added another to her résumé: a headlining concert at Madison Square Garden.
The seven-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter performed a triumphant show at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” on Sunday night (October 13) in New York City.
Sara is currently touring the country on her Amidst The Chaos Tour, named after her new album of the same name. The new music marked her return to a career as a recording artist after a long hiatus, during which she conquered Broadway with her musical Waitress. Now, she is conquering arenas around the U.S. with her biggest tour to date!
The show has a little bit of everything for both longtime fans and more recent ones – nine songs from the new album, a perfect taste of the sweet-as-pie music from Waitress, and a sampling of the hit songs that made people fall in love with Sara over the years. Even if you take a glance at the set list ahead of the show, Sara will still keep you guessing throughout the night with new interpretations of some of your favorites, including a stunning new take of her beloved hit “Gravity.”
One of the highlights of the night was when fans lit up the arena during Sara‘s soaring mash-up of “No Such Thing” and “Satellite Call,” creating a sea of lights among the crowd of thousands.
Sara’s diary literally comes to life on stage with a set designed by Emmy winner Jason Sherwood. Hundreds of pages of her music, lyrics, and handwriting float above the stage, creating an incredible visual that serves as the backdrop to a magical evening.
In the end, it’s Sara’s vocals that were the undeniable force behind the show. There aren’t many performers out there who can sit alone on stage with their piano and captivate 20,000 people at MSG, but we can confidently say that Sara Bareilles is one of them.
Sara is on tour through the end of November, so check out the tour dates and get tickets now!
